Morning Eagle Lodge at Whitefish Mountain Resort
If you like to stay on mountain with ski in ski out convenience (who doesn’t?)
then at Whitefish Mountain Resort look no
further than the Morning Eagle Lodge. This grand condo style hotel is closest to
the ski slopes, and has beautiful rooms, one bedroom and larger suites. The
convenience begins as you arrive, check in at the central lodging office and
park your car in the underground garage. An elevator takes you to your suite,
with either a mountain slope view or a view of the Flathead Valley, Whitefish

Our two bedroom condo unit had a spacious fully equipped kitchen with granite
counters, a large tile bath with a full washer and dryer, private master bedroom
and a bunk room for the kids, nice living area, TV with stereo and a wonderful
balcony overlooking the ski village from the fourth floor, with Whitefish Lake
and Flathead Lake - the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi,
beyond. The entry was spacious and well designed for skiers to with lots of
hooks and ski boot dryers.
One of the best features of the Morning Eagle Lodge is the 5th floor outdoor hot
tub with views of the slopes, the lakes… a true treat after skiing – bring your
own beer (plastic cups please) and enjoy a soaking after skiing laps all day on
Whitefish’s famous long ski runs Toni Matt and Moe-Mentum (named for downhill
Gold medalist and local Tommy Moe).
Your skis are perfectly poised at the Lodge’s main level ski lockers just steps
to the slopes. From Morning Eagle you have no excuse not to get early morning
tracks at Whitefish, and you can ski till last chair, and drink till last call
at the Bierstube a snowball’s toss away in the Whitefish Mountain Resort’s
village. Other dining options while staying at Morning Eagle include Hellroaring
Saloon, a short walk across the snow, next to Ed & Mully’s, and the elegant Café
Kandahar is a short walk away for some of the best ski resort dining in all of

the lodging check in if you want to utilize your condo’s kitchen. There’s also a
ski shop in the same condo complex. The drive down to the wonderful western town
of Whitefish, 6 miles down an access road, provides lots more dining options,
and great shopping.
There is a so much exploring to do around Whitefish, besides, skiing, like
snowmobiling, dog-sledding, ice skating at the Stumptown
Ice Den, or a winter visit to Glacier National Park on snow shoes or cross
country skis – Glacier Park's West Entrance is only 23 miles from
Whitefish. Kalispell is just 11 miles away where you can fly into Glacier
