The best "après ski" is obviously in Europe, the Alps are where the alpine sport and
its cocktail conclusion commenced. But barring a trip to France, Switzerland or
Austria (which you must do - on every skiers bucket list), there are some
energetic bars and pubs stateside on the East Coast that offer lively après ski. While
very few offer a true European dance in your ski boots scene or a mountainside
ski in ski out umbrella bar, these party places on or near the slopes in Maine,
New Hampshire, Vermont and Quebec are worthy and can get wild on a Saturday in
Picture skiers hanging out after the lifts close, often still in
their ski clothes, live bands, pitchers of beer, and plates piled high with
nachos. Not a bad way to end a great ski day! Here are our best après ski bar recommendations including
